Improving housing for fragile communities in Africa
The Luxembourg Red Cross improves the housing and infrastructure of vulnerable populations through its shelter programmes and contributes to the training of local professionals. Currently, it intervenes mainly during disasters due to climate change and helps the most vulnerable, i.e. women and children, in crisis situations but also over the long term.
Every year hundreds of thousands of homes are destroyed by natural disasters, droughts, and armed conflicts. There is a real lack of resources in terms of choice of materials and construction techniques for the supply of adequate humanitarian shelter.
A respectable home is a crucial foundation with positive effects on health, security, privacy and stability. Together, let us contribute to a fairer world.
